ESOLANCE 40 MG contains Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Esomeprazole works by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system (the final step of acid production) in the stomach lining, effectively lowering gastric acidity. This not only helps relieve symptoms like heartburn, sour stomach, chest pain, and difficulty swallowing, but also promotes healing of acid-damaged tissues.

ESOLANCE 40 MG is also commonly used as part of combination therapy to eradicate H. pylori infection and to prevent gastric ulcers caused by NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) in long-term users.
