TAZIUM AM is a fixed-dose combination tablet that contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker (CCB). This combination is widely prescribed for the effective management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.

Telmisartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to narrow and retain sodium, which increases blood pressure. By blocking this substance, Telmisartan helps relax and widen the blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood.
Amlodipine helps by relaxing the smooth muscles of the heart and blood vessels, lowering resistance and improving blood flow. It is especially effective in controlling systolic hypertension and reducing chest pain (angina).
