TERBIFON 250 MG is an antifungal medication containing Terbinafine, a synthetic allylamine with broad-spectrum antifungal activity. It works by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase, an essential component in the fungal cell membrane synthesis pathway. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol (a vital fungal cell membrane component) and an accumulation of toxic squalene within the fungal cell, ultimately causing fungal cell death.

Terbifon is highly effective against dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, and Microsporum species, which are responsible for fungal infections of the skin, nails, scalp, and feet. It is a preferred treatment for onychomycosis (fungal nail infections) and tinea infections such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm.
